Sessions Info (8)
No. We’ve found most participants are away on vacation and attendance is uncertain at the best of times. It’s our holiday as well. 🙂
We hold sessions twice a year – once in the fall (starting in September – early November) and once in the spring (starting in January – early March). When these dates roll around, our ‘Upcoming Sessions’ page will reflect the available sessions. Remember to register early!
We find that many of our Toastmasters are not available during the day on week days. Also, the program works best with approximately 15 participants. Therefore, we offer the programs on weekends, at libraries, generally.
We do not run sessions for group sizes of less than 10 youth. We encourage them to try some of our planned library sessions! Go to ‘Upcoming Sessions’ to see the available sessions we are offering and to the ‘Registration’ page to register.
Of course! We encourage parents to come see what Toastmasters Youth Leadership is all about.
Each session is different, but sessions must be led by at least two Toastmasters, but there are often three or four. Feel free to ask the session leader how many Toastmasters are involved at the first session!
Sessions have taken place in libraries all over Edmonton. Sessions are planned based on expected turnout – sorry if we missed your area! We may still plan more sessions depending on demand.
Registration (5)
If a session does not have “This session is now full!” in red text underneath the location name, there are spots left. If it does, the session is solidly booked – however, if you attend the first meeting with your registration form and some participants drop out or fail to show up, you may be able to land a spot for your child.
The application process is simple: go to the ‘Registration’ page of our website. Download the application form provided and fill it out. Then email a scanned version of it to us or bring it in person on the first day of the session. For best results, please fax it to us beforehand; this way we can reserve a spot for your child.
For 8-week sessions: all icebreaker speeches must be completed by the 4th week, so last-minute registration cuts off in the 2nd week. Participants cannot miss more than 2 days. For 6-week sessions: we don’t accept late registration. Participants who missed more than 1 day may not receive a graduation certificates. In Advanced 8-week sessions: participants cannot miss more than 2 days, last-minute registration cuts in the 2nd week.
Please register before the session if possible so we may anticipate the feasibility of a session beforehand.
The absolute last day a participant may join a session is the second week of the session (for an 8-week program), or the first week of the session, (for an 6-week program), unless otherwise indicated or allowed by the Coordinator. If you wish to register and a program has already started, bring a completed registration form to the session. If you are accepted, please also email naylproject@gmail.com.
Our age range is from 11 – 17. We do not accept registrants that are not within that bracket, because we have found that it works out best for everyone if the participant is within the specified age range.

Hello there,
I want to register my son in Toastmaster. He will be going to grade 10 in September 2017. When is the next registration. Thank you very much.
Angeline
Hi Angeline: please take a look on our upcoming session page. Your son must be between age 11 – 17, and must have never registered with us before.
Hello,
Do you usually hold the Youth Program around the city or stay at a permanent location? How long and how much does each program usually costs? Can my child register to the program as many times as she likes?
Thanks!
Jan
Hi Janice! We hold sessions around Edmonton & Area. The program is always free, and for that reason we are limited to locations that will not charge us for their spaces. Due to high demand, we have been limiting registrations to first-time participants. We hope to have programs for repeat participants in the future!
Hi!
My son is around 10 years and 10 months years old. Will complete his 11 years in November. Still, is he eligible?
And also would you provide the location address in Edmonton and the session timings?
